Georgia's Shower

The weather report called for "isolated showers" throughout the day, but fortunatly we had blue skies and sun all day!


Everyone arrived around 1:30...ish to begin the festivities. The theme was Mexico since Georgia and Chris would be traveling to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for their honeymoon.

There were dogs...

You just can't have a shower without silly shower games, here is our wining toilet paper dress:
apparently it won because it's closest to the brides actual dress!

Next it was time for the presents,
did we tell everyone the mother of the groom would be present? Is this gift PG? NC17? or um... I'm thinking R!
o thank goodness, Georgia can finally join the scrapbooking club!!
Frannie just wants to know when we get to have cake.

Cozumel ~ May 5 - 12, 2007

There aren't many more appropriate days to leave for Mexico than on Cinco de Mayo. Though we spent most of the day in the air or in Atlanta, our final destination was to be the Hotel Cozumeleno (I don't know how to get one of those little tilda things over the "n" - so just pronounce it like Monty Python's knights that say "nya")

The "WE" included Trisha, Scarlet, David,
and me.

Fortunately when we did arrive we knew exactly what to do first...

and I think it also involved some karaoke to Neil Diamond... but I can't really remember it all...

David and I spent Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then just David on Friday diving the reefs off Cozumel. We don't have an underwater camera, so we don't have any pictures, but some people that we were diving with us did and they promised to e-mail us photos from the dives.

We dove Palancar Caves and Bricks (apparently named that because a barge turned over there once and dumped a bunch of bricks which you can see while diving), Santa Rosa, Columbia & Columbia Shallows, Dalila, Paso del Cedral, and Punta Tunic. Then David did Devil's Throat and Los Palmas without me (I like air too much to try Devil's Throat). Every year the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee has a pagent to find their "Queen Colleen" of the parade. The parade committee has just recently changed the age limits of the contestants to be between the ages of 21 and 29. For several years we've been waiting for Trisha's daughter to be old enough to compete. This year, Anna turned 21...

Friday, February 10

David and I few into Nashville (because Frontier doesn't fly to Alabama) where we rented a car and drove to Huntsville. We stopped at Stan's gas station, diner, and bar in Columbia for lunch where we learned Columbia was the home of President Taft and where we bought 2 pounds of smoked bacon.

The evenings events included stopping by Brenda & Greg's for a rest then on to the Macaroni Grill for the Pre-Wedding Dinner.

Saturday, February 10

Saturday morning the "X" clan drove up to Lynchburg (being mildly persuaded by David and I) to visit the Jack Daniels distillery. After the distillery we explored the town (or block) of Lynchburg were many "X" ancestors lived. One such "X" was the town Sheriff and the old Jail House has been turned into a small museum. There are several X's that can be found in the pictures on the walls.

The wedding was an evening ceremony. It was held in a cute wedding chapel in Hartselle.

After the ceremony the Wiseman clan went back to Brenda & Greg's to sample the "commemorative" bottle from Jack Daniels. I believe there was talk of collectively buying a barrel... or something.
